Wonder why some books are considered level “B” and others considered level “C”? Want to get a better understanding of leveled texts and how to really match those texts to students in guided reading groups? Have you just wanted to know “WHAT” to teach at each level? When to move them up? What to do when kids seem to be "stuck"? How to write a strong lesson plan? This is the workshop for you!
This workshop will cover:
*clear understanding and definition of Guided Reading
*how to plan a lesson plan that matches readers instructional goals
*understanding how the Continuum can support both guided reading and strategy group instruction
*using runnning records to actually direct your teaching - not just about finding a level; this will take out the guesswork of "what to teach"
*learn how book bags can accelerate readers progress in between guided reading sessions
*take home handout with lesson plan template, strategy ideas and other goodies!
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
